Castle Day is an annual celebration of college life and of the students who make up University College. Held after exams, this event is a chance for students to spend the day amongst other members of their college both old and new. Traditionally, alumni are welcomed back to this event so that students can become involved in a larger Castle legacy.
In contrast to other College Days held across Durham University, Castle Day is fairly small. In previous years this has been due to Castle Day being held very close to June Ball. However, the current JCR Executive Committee are looking to reinvent the day, to make it a much larger, more inclusive, and more purposeful event. To fulfil this new vision, a committee will be recruited – however, any ideas in the meantime are very much welcomed.
